Anton Kushaev (born 1983) graduated from the Moscow College of Applied Arts (formerly named after Kalinin) and the Icon Painting School at the Moscow Theological Academy. He also studied at the Institute "Baza" (Moscow). Anton received an education in icon painting, where he practiced copying museum samples of icons and frescoes, immersing himself in medieval optics. Anton sees parallels between the subject of his studies, modernist practices, late Soviet avant-garde, and the visuality of contemporary interfaces, revealing these intersections in his artistic practice.
