Evgeny Granilshchikov (born 1985) is a multidisciplinary artist and independent filmmaker. He currently lives in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Evgeny Granilshchikov works with various media, including video and sound art, photography, installation, and independent experimental cinema. In many of his projects, the artist addresses issues of his generation, themes of personal and political frustration, and phenomena of collective trauma.
His main priority is creating films that combine live action, experimental, and documentary cinema. Using this approach, he analyzes the nature of the cinematic medium, linking cinematic language, politics, and personal history. Granilshchikov always avoids direct statements; the content of his projects is open to interpretation, as is their form. His works represent fundamental human values: a sense of uncertainty, love and the feeling of loss, political outrage, and social injustice.
