Mika Plutitskaya, is a Moscow-based artist, graduate of academic programme of University of Hertfordshire (B.A. (Hons) in Fine Arts) and British Higher School of Art and Design. She also graduated from Moscow State Art and Theatre School (Specialist degree in Animation).
Plutitskaya has started her art practice in the field of performance, сurrently she is mainly engaged in painting due to its mythopoeic potential. On the one hand, the artist refers to modernist tradition of the media, treating paint as a material and physical substance. On the other hand, she applies cinematic methods to her paintings. Her approach to the image implies sequence rather than singularity, therefor the artist often repeats the same composition.
